Features

Everything GainzMate does.

Every feature here is included in GainzMate Pro, the one subscription the app ships with, which starts with a free trial. GainzMate is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone.

Fast meal logging

Log a meal in seconds, whatever you're eating.

Six ways in: a photo, a sentence, a barcode, manual entry, recent meals and saved favorites.

Most people quit logging because every meal means a database search and a serving-size picker. In GainzMate the fastest path is the default and the precise ones are a tap away, so logging still works on day 60, not just day one.

How accurate is AI logging?

Precision Scan

Portions measured, not just eyeballed.

On iPhone Pro models with LiDAR, Precision Scan measures the food on your plate in 3D.

Portion size is where photo estimates go wrong most often: a photo can't tell a shallow bowl of rice from a deep one. Precision Scan uses the LiDAR Scanner to measure the food above the plate and blends that with the photo estimate. When the two disagree, it tells you instead of guessing.

Estimates you control

Every AI number is a draft until you say it isn't.

See each food it found, fix any number and resize the portion before anything is saved. AI processing needs your consent.

An AI estimate should be easy to argue with. GainzMate shows each food with its grams and macros, takes the nutrition from food databases where it can, lets you change any of it, and learns your portion sizes from the corrections you make.

Our honest take on AI accuracy

Calories burned & energy balance

See what you ate against what you burned.

Connect Apple Health to put your resting and active energy next to your intake, with your deficit or surplus one tap away.

A calorie target is a guess about what you burn. Apple Health records what you actually burned, and GainzMate lines it up against what you ate, so you can see whether a cut is really a cut. Every figure is labelled measured or estimated, and none of it changes your targets behind your back.

How to know you're really in a deficit

Apple Health

Your iPhone and Apple Watch already know how you train.

Read-only access to steps, workouts, body weight, and active and resting energy, each used for one clear job.

Anything that writes to Apple Health can feed GainzMate, from your Apple Watch to a smart scale. GainzMate only reads, never writes, and your Health readings stay on your iPhone.

Targets built for training

Calories and macros worked out for your body, training and goal.

Onboarding builds your targets with published formulas, and every number stays editable.

Generic apps give everyone the same split. GainzMate starts from your body (Mifflin-St Jeor, or Katch-McArdle when you know your body fat), adds what your training burns, sets protein first and moves calories toward your goal at the pace you choose.

See the method we use

Today at a glance

Know what's left to eat, mid-afternoon.

Macro rings, calories against your goal, calories burned, meals by slot and quick actions on one screen.

The question that matters mid-day is what's left, so Today leads with it. Rings mark a hit goal and flag an overshoot, and a heads-up arrives as you close in on your calorie target.

Progress & history

Turn daily logs into a trend you can act on.

Insights from the last 7 days to all time, a calendar diary and a gallery of every meal photo.

One day tells you almost nothing. The weekly average and the longer trend tell you whether your targets are right, and Insights is built around them.

How to adjust from the trend

Crew: friends & accountability

Progress hits different together.

Add friends, share meals, cheer each other on and compete on consistency. Friends only.

Consistency is easier with witnesses. Your Crew sees the meals you share and how your day is tracking, and the leaderboards reward showing up, never bodyweight.

Reminders & streaks

Consistency, built in.

Missed-meal reminders, goal nudges, streak warnings, a weekly summary and friend activity, each with its own switch.

A reminder only helps if it's timely. GainzMate learns when you usually log each meal and speaks up when one is missing, not on a fixed alarm.

Why the protein check matters

Privacy & data control

Your data. Your choice.

Consent-first AI, read-only Apple Health that stays on your phone, opt-in usage analytics, full export and in-app deletion.

Your meal photos and body data are yours. AI processing needs your explicit consent, sharing is a permission you grant, and export and deletion are a few taps away.

Built on math you can check.

The targets, the protein ranges, and the honest take on AI logging are written up in the guides. It's the same method the app runs. Coming soon to iPhone.
